Stephen Cohen is an acupuncturist and wellness expert, practicing at AXIOM Holistic in Flatiron. At this comprehensive wellness facility, Cohen addresses patientsā overall wellness and treats a variety of medical conditions with an integrative approach. His areas of specialization include fertility and reproductive health, sports medicine, and internal conditions and disease.
Cohen specializes in variety of acupuncture techniques, including Traditional Chinese Medicine and Trigger Point Dry Needling. HeĀ also performs an advanced, integrative style of treatment developed by the renowned Japanese practitioner, Kiko Matsumoto, whom he trained under in both the United States and Japan. His treatment is aimed at addressing the emotional and psychological, as well as the physical, aspects of disease and discomfort.Ā Cohenās patients often find that his methods succeed where traditional medicine has failed.
Before beginning his career in acupuncture, Cohen spent a decade working at top accounting firms in mergers and acquisitions.Ā After he left finance to follow his passion for integrative medicine, he graduated with honors from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture and completed an internship at The Holistic Health Center. Cohen went on to earn certifications in both Oncology Acupuncture from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Acupuncture for Labor and Delivery from Lutheran Hospital.
Cohen is one of the founders of the nonprofit, Changing Health. He and his colleagues founded the organization in 2008 to benefit affordable, donation based community acupuncture clinics.
