The Vi Peel (Vitality Institute) is a gentle yet powerful medical-grade chemical peel for the treatment of acne and acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, age and sun spots, hyperpigmentation, melasma, rosacea, enlarged pores, oil balancing, and overall skin health.
The Vi Peel is safe and effective on all skin types and colors and can be used on the face, neck chest, arms, back, and legs, and is the only peel safe for the under-eye area. It is also painless and requires minimal downtime. With the Vi Peel, the magic is in the formula. A blend of Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA), Tretinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C, and other minerals work together to safely remove the damaged layers of the skin, promote cellular turnover, and refine the surface layer for a smoother, clearer, firmer skin that has a more youthful and radiant appearance.
Ideal candidates for a Vi Peel are fair to medium in skin color and are looking to improve mild to moderate skin damage, heal acne, and reverse the signs of early aging. This treatment may cause hyperpigmentation on those with darker skin tones, so it is important to consult with a trusted practitioner to determine if you are a good candidate.
A Vi Peel is relatively painless for most people, but more sensitive types may experience a mild to moderate burning or tingling sensation that is tolerable without topical anesthetic or pain medication. A cooling device may be used to minimize any discomfort.
During a Vi Peel the skin is cleansed and then the solution is evenly applied in two phases: one to penetrate into the skin cells on the skin’s surface, and the other to go deeper into the dermis where toxins and dead skin cells are hiding. The solution dries quickly and you are free to resume daily activities, but must wait 5 hours before washing it off.
The Vi Peel treatment takes 20 to 45 minutes.

There are no immediate effects of the Vi Peel; it takes 2 to 3 days before skin begins peeling, and it will continue to do so for up to 6 days. During the peeling process skin may have unusual coloring with red, brown, or yellowish tones, but more commonly it looks like a slight sunburn that is flaking off.
As a part of post-treatment home care, special peeling wipes with Retin-A and other minerals are given to help you stimulate skin peeling and expedite results.
Once the skin finishes peeling, minor improvements are visible, but full results take 4 to 6 weeks to appear, at which point skin is smoother, firmer, clearer, with a more youthful and radiant glow than before.
Noticeable results are realized after the first Vi Peel treatment; however, for ideal results the recommended course of treatment is 3 to 6 treatments spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, followed by biannual maintenance treatments.
Only aboard-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in Vi Peel treatment should administer this treatment. Board certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), American Society Of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), or the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) ensures that the doctor meets nationally recognized standards for education, knowledge, experience and skills to safely and effectively administer this treatment.
You are always kind and caring towards your skin, but after a Vi Peel your gentle touch is paramount…avoid harsh products, exfoliating, lasers, and direct sunlight for at least a week after treatment, and don’t forget the sunscreen.
For the love of Marilyn Monroe, do not pull off peeling skin with your hands! Some things just have to happen naturally and this is one of them.
The safe and non-invasive nature of the Vi Peel makes this a wonderful accompaniment to an injectable or derma filler treatment for that added restorative oomph.
Superficial Peels are customized to address minor skin irregularities like discoloration, acne, surface scarring, fine lines, and sun spots.
A Medium-depth Chemical Peel causes controlled damage of the epidermis, which restores the skin’s tone and texture in just a single setting.
