Just a few weeks ago, the FDA approved two new versions of Restylane, the hyaluronic acid-based line of fillers. These new fillers are specifically designed to target those long lines at the side of your mouth—nasolabial folds, or laugh lines.
Restylane Refyne is approved for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles or folds, and Restylane Defyne is approved for the treatment of deeper facial wrinkles.
While both fillers are flexible and natural-looking—a hallmark of hyaluronic acid fillers—Refyne features flexible, super-subtle support. Defyne is formulated to provide a firmer, but still-flexible solution. Both fillers last up to 12 months.
Both fillers were approved for use in Europe in 2010, and were designed using a unique manufacturing process called XpresHAn Technology. This formulation creates a smooth, injectable gel that allows for more natural-looking results than ever.
“Many of my patients are interested to learn about the latest products that can help them achieve natural-looking results, but are oftentimes unsure about starting dermal fillers,” said San Diego-based board-certified dermatologist Mitch Goldman, MD. “The introduction of these next-generation HA dermal fillers with XpresHAn Technology has the potential to change my patients’ views on fillers. Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne provide options for patients who want to make sure they can achieve natural-looking results which, is a key need my patients express every day.”
These two new fillers join Restylane Silk, designed especially for lips—which Charlotte’s Book has tested—and Restylane Lyft, the classic wrinkle-smoother and cheek plumper.
Stay tuned for more news and reviews as Restylane Refyne and Defyne hit doctor’s offices in the new year.
