My Current Obsession: Jillian Wright Transcendence Oil

Published:

January 5, 2017

In our line of work, we try a lot of products: that means we know what we love, and why. “My Current Obsession” is a quick and dirty way to tell you about something we’ve tried and all the reasons why we like it. These are never sponsored posts. Only opinions from the bottom of our hearts.

WHAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE?

I love it. This is a super-luxe and effective multi-use oil for face, body, and hair.

WHAT IS IT?

It’s Transcendence Oil by Jillian Wright Skincare—a combination of nutrient-rich oils.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Everyone! Any age and skin type can benefit from this oil.  It’s 100% natural and paraben, sulfate, preservative, gluten and fragrance free.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

Jillian Wright has been a New York City spa owner and clinical esthetician for over 18 years. She launched her original skincare line in 2014 but has now relaunched the entire line with uber luxe packaging and some new product innovations, including this gorgeous oil. With so much experience under her belt, Jillian knows how to concoct some quality skincare. This is one of the most versatile products in her line.

To be honest, I feel like I have oil fatigue syndrome; there are so many on the market. It’s hard for me to get really excited about even the loveliest oil anymore. But this one blew me away: it felt special and different from the first pump. I often find that multi-use oils are too heavy for my face, too light for my body and just not perfect for anywhere. But Jillian’s Transcendence Oil truly does transcend normal oil classifications. It feels wonderful on my face… but also on my neck, décolletage, hands, elbows and more.

INGREDIENTS

Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed Oil), Persea Gratissima (Avocado Oil), Macadamia Ternifolia Seed (Macadamia Oil), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Calophyllum Inophyllum (Oil of Tamanu), Morinda Citrifolia (Noni), Clementine EO, Jasmine EO

HOW DOES IT SMELL?

The jasmine and citrusy scent is special. It’s complex. This oil is on the level with May Lindstrom and Josh Rosebrook products.

HOW DO YOU USE IT?

A million different ways. I press it into my skin after toner and water-based serum at least. If my skin needs extra hydration I’ll layer it on top of a cream. You can use it to gently remove eye makeup, apply to skin after a sunburn or laser treatment and/or dab on after sun exposure. I like to twist a little in the ends of my hair when they are looking scraggly and in need of a little definition. One of my favorite uses is to rub it into my hands and knuckles after kickboxing class. Jillian’s specific instructions are to use alone on your face, body or hair, or under moisturizer. You can also use it as a natural oil makeup remover if wiped off right away. May also be used for shaving.

HOW LONG DID I TEST IT FOR?

I’ve been using it for about two months… every single day.

HOW MUCH IS IT?

There are three sizes available: 1oz/29ml $32.50, 2oz/59ml $65.00, 8oz/239ml $240.00.

WHERE CAN I BUY IT?

Right now, Jillian’s oil is only available on her website, here

WORKS WELL WITH?

So far it has worked well with all other skincare I’ve layered it with. I usually layer it over my (water-based) serum and cream in the daytime, and over Jillian Wright Dream Cream at night (which I am also testing out).

DRAWBACKS?

The main drawback is the price, but most oils are pricey these days. At least this oil is very multi-functional. Pricey and multi-functional is always a financially dangerous combo for me because I can rationalize it.

WOULD I BUY IT AGIN?

Yes! Absolutely! Full disclosure, I received this bottle for free. But I would absolutely purchase this oil.
