It’s the most wonderful time of year! All the gorgeous independent beauty brands are meeting in New York August 22nd—24th for the third time ever, and we’ll be there for all the beauty, wellness, and lifestyle goodies you can fill a tote with (and we know how to fill a tote).
Here’s the who, what, where and why of Independent Beauty Expo New York 2017, plus a line on some deeply discounted tickets for the Shop Indie portion of IBE NY, where anyone can go and check out the latest in indie beauty (read to the end to get our special code!).
A Little Background
IBE debuted in New York City in August of 2015 and has rapidly grown to become the largest professionally-curated exposition of independent beauty, lifestyle and wellness brands. To date, IBE has helped thousands of brands from around the world and across different categories along their journey towards commercial success. It’s the brainchild of New York-based aesthetician Jillian Wright, a member of the Charlotte’s Book advisory board and founder of her own eponymous skincare line (p.s. we love her Transcendence Oil) and co-founder Nader Naeymi-Rad.
It’s a beauty lovers’ mecca, designed to be the perfect place to discover and buy the latest new products from over 200 incredible indie brands ranging from cosmetics, skin care, hair care, nail care, ingestibles, fragrance and beauty devices.
Since 2015, IBE launched in Los Angeles (yay!) and in Dallas.
The Schedule
While most trade shows are closed to the public, IBE wisely dedicates time for the consumer by creating a shopping experience you won’t want to miss (Shop Indie, taking place on Wednesday, August 23, is open until 9:00 p.m.!). Shoppers are blessed with access to new brands in a gorgeous setting that includes music, juices, sampling tables, and more. This expo is organized to best serve the three key players in indie beauty: brands, buyers, and us—the skincare obsessive who loves to discover new things and stock our shelves with the latest beauty and wellness products. It’s a perfect girls night out. Here’s the full schedule.
CONNECT INDIE — Tuesday, August 22 9:00 a.m.—7:00 p.m.
Are you a budding entrepreneur in the beauty or wellness space? Tired of your day job, like Robin Shobin was? This day is designed for the indie entrepreneurs that make this fair happen: it allows for founders and brand-owners to learn and network with other founders and industry experts. SHOP INDIE — Wednesday, August 23 5:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m.
Love indie beauty and buy it all the time? This is your candyland: a room full of the most beautiful, highest-quality, most innovative indie beauty products in the world, and all of it at your fingertips. This day is wisely scheduled to end at 9:00 p.m., so you can head there after work. Happening at Skylight Clarkson Square.
TRADE INDIE — Thursday, August 24 10:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.
With everyone all in one room, this is the ideal time for beauty professionals to meet, greet, and sweet-talk the world’s largest collection of independent beauty brands. Happening at Skylight Clarkson Square.
