My Beauty File: Nicci Levy, Founder & CEO of Alchemy 43

Published:

May 8, 2019

Nicci Levy, founder and CEO of Alchemy 43, got the idea for an injectables beauty bar during her time as business development manager for Allergan, the maker of Botox, in Beverly Hills. Being in the smallest geographical area in the U.S. with the highest volume of Botox sales, Nicci watched injectables being performed day after day and was struck by how stale and transactional the whole experience was. She also became hyper-aware of the stigma and misconceptions attached to these services.

Nicci saw an opportunity to create a new approach to the market — one that offered injectables as a beauty ritual or experience to look forward to (like getting a manicure or blowout), without sacrificing the quality of the treatment or the professionalism of the practitioner.

We got with Nicci to get a glimpse into her day-to-day, from her skincare routine and go-to breakfast to her biggest piece of life advice and the one thing she always does before bed.

Morning skincare:

My morning skincare routine includes:

Ole Henriksen “Face the Truth” Gel Cleanser

Breakfast:

I start every day with scrambled eggs, toast, and coffee!

Night skincare:

My nighttime skincare regime includes:

Tatcha Pure One Step Cleansing Oil

Bliss Pore Patrol Daily Warming Scrub

SKII Facial Treatment Essence

Skinceuticals AGE Eye Complex

La Mer Cream

Supplements:

Ritual 2x Daily Multivitamin

Goop Glow Morning Skin Superpowder

Fitness:

I head to Equinox to do free weights and 30 min of cardio at least 3-4 times per week, and walk wherever and whenever I can.

Tech:

I am never without my iPhone and my MacBook Air laptop.

Hair:

I get a blowout at Drybar about once a week, and I work while I’m in the chair. Living Proof Dry Shampoo and Oribe Superfine Hairspray are two of my staples.

Dermatologist or facialist:

Facials: Carolyn Newell at Dr. Tiffany Grunwald in Santa Monica

Derm: Dr. Anna Guanche at the Bella Skin Institute in Calabasas

Wellness:

I make it a point to get massages monthly.

My best piece of beauty advice:

I never go to sleep with makeup on, no matter how tired I am, and I always use eye cream!

My best piece of life advice:

Don’t let anyone else set limitations for you. You can have it all with grit and hard work. So, go get it! All of it!

Biggest beauty myth:

People that get Botox/fillers look fake. (The best work goes unnoticed.)

My Charlotte:

Dame Helen Mirren is a vision of beauty and grace to me. She looks natural, elegant, well-preserved and, most importantly, happy.
