My Current Obsession: eXO Bio.digital Perfection Moisturizer
In our line of work, we try a lot of products: that means we know what we love, and why. "My Current Obsession" is a quick and dirty way to tell you about something we've tried and all the reasons why we like it. These are never sponsored posts—only opinions inspired by our obsessions.
What's the bottom line?
It's a great all-in-one moisturizer with major anti-aging and hydrating benefits. This is a great moisturizer for people who want less steps in their routine or are always on the go. It's light in texture, so it's an everyday, all-season moisturizer.
What is it?
eXO Bio.digital Perfection Moisturizer: an all-in-one moisturizer that is supposed to replace serum, eye cream, night cream and day cream. Their claim is that the brand is the first ever to use human exosomes.
Who is it for?
All skin types and age ranges. Personally, I’m 32 with combination skin.
What's the story?
eXO is a relatively new skincare company trying to streamline skincare products. They use "Next-Gen" natural ingredients + active human exosomes. "Exosomes" are a vital aspect of our biology and are found naturally throughout the body. In simple terms, they are tiny bubble-like messengers that remind cells how to regenerate. This company cultures exosomes and uses them to regenerate living tissue and repair skins barrier function. Some scientists are studying how exosomes can help grow and regenerate specific types of organ tissue like livers and hearts.
Ingredients?
Water, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecyl Myristate, Dimethicone, Glycerin, PEG-8 Beeswax, Cetyl Alcohol, hASC Human Adipose Stromal Cell Exosome, Morinda Citrifolia (Noni) Fruit Extract, Agastache Mexicana Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Chondrus Crispus (Irish Moss) Extract, Ulva Lactuca (Sea Lettuce) Extract, Algae Extract (Kelp), Laminaria Digitata (Kombu) Extract, Undaria Pinnatifida (Wakame) Extract, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Ascorbic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Cholecalciferol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed) Oil, Polysorbate 85, Propanediol, Glyceryl Stearate, Ceteth-20, Steareth-20, Acrylates/Acrylamide Copolymer, Mineral Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance
How does it smell?
Very subtle and refreshing and it dissipates quickly. Light hints of eucalyptus and cottonwood make it pleasurable yet not at all overwhelming.
How do you use it?
Instructions say to apply directly to clean, dry skin, and use it both A.M./P.M.
How long did I test it for?
I started testing it 6 months ago and have not stopped using it since.
How much is it?
$118.oo. This bottle lasts for about two months.
Where can I buy it?
Right now, it's only available on the exoskinsimple website.
Works well with?
Honestly, just bare skin. But the moisturizer also plays well with serums and under make-up as a light primer.
What's good about it?
My skin has never looked so glowy with a moisturizer so light. As I mentioned, I’m 32 with combination skin and this keeps me hydrated all day without being greasy. It absorbs very quickly, which I love because I’m always on the go. It's also nice under my foundation and doesn't pill up as some moisturizers can do. The ingredients are a home run with a mostly natural roster.
Drawbacks?
It took me a few minutes to initially get the product out. The airless pump has to be pumped about 10 times initially to get the product out. But after that it worked just fine. It's also a bit pricey—but since I use it as an all-in-one product I don't mind too much.
Would I buy this again?
Yes! Absolutely!
