My Current Obsession: The Lip Slip by Sara Happ One Luxe Balm
In our line of work, we try a lot of products: that means we know what we love, and why. "My Current Obsession" is a quick and dirty way to tell you about something we've tried and all the reasons why we like it. These are never sponsored posts. Only opinions from the bottom of our hearts.
What's the bottom line?
I will use this to the very end. The best tub of lip balm meets the best lip gloss there is.
What is it?
The Lip Slip by Sara Happ One Luxe Balm: A tub of luxurious, super-hydrating glossy lip balm.
Who is it for?
Everyone. Especially those that suffer super-dry chapped lips in the winter.
What's the story?
Sara Happ started making lip balms in her kitchen that would truly heal chapped lips. “We’re always looking for that perfect product. One that truly heals relentless chapping. Most lip products are designed to dry your lips out, leaving you desperately applying more. And more. The more you use, the more you need. It’s a vicious cycle.” Sarah's signature products—including lip scrub, luxe lip balm, and lip glosses—promise to break the cycle and give you baby-smooth lips. Her signature products come in perfectly cute brown, gold and pink eco-friendly boxes, there is no animal testing, and all the products are 100% paraben free.
Ingredients?
Polybutene, Mineral Oil, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Microcrystalline Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil Ethylene / Propylene / Styrene Copolymer, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Butylene / Ethylene / Styrene Copolymer, Tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E Acetate) Flavor, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Saccharin, Tin Oxide, BHT.
How does it smell?
No real discernable smell or taste.
How do you use it?
Apply morning or night, as needed. Sara Happ does recommend using her lip exfoliator first but it's not mandatory.
How long did I test it for?
I was first introduced to this at the spa at the Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain. I have used it for over a year now.
How much is it?
$24. It's pricey for a tub of lip balm but it works. It lasts forever, and it's worth it.
Where can I buy it?
Amazon, Nordstrom, SpaceNK, various spas, Blue Mercury, or on the Sara Happ website. A great buy is the Sparking Peach Gift Set which comes with a lip scrub and a lip slip luxe balm for $40.00.
Works well with?
Bare lips.
WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT?
It's simply really, really moisturizing. You don't feel the need to constantly re-apply. It works and it has staying power.
Drawbacks?
It's a bit more of a cosmetic lip gloss than just a pure hydrating balm. It's quite thick with a pale pink tint. It's also a bit expensive. I have lost so many lip balms, oils, and products that I am hesitant to spend a lot on them.
Would I buy this again?
Yes! But luckily it lasts a very long time so I won't need to buy another one soon.
