Hair Color Authority Rita Hazan Shares Her Beauty File
My Beauty File is an on-going series where we figure out what the most timeless, put-together and coolest ladies are doing—what their days look like, what they can’t live without—in hopes that we might learn a thing or two. Beauty Files are a quick and easy cheat-sheet on how these incredible ladies are becoming their best selves. With an eponymous 5th Avenue salon and clients like Beyoncé (!), Katy Perry (!!), and Jennifer Lopez (!!!), Rita Hazan has more than earned the title "The Hair Color Authority." Her looks—or coverage of the trends Rita has started—have appeared everywhere from Elle to Interview. Rita's Beauty File reveals a hard-working, to-the-point personality (only two steps in her skincare routine, morning and night!) and an intense devotion to hair gloss—"it's like foundation for your hair," she explains. Beauty tips? She's full of them: we love "take a vacation." Read on for more.
Morning Skincare:
Wash with Cetaphil then use La Mer moisturizer.
Morning Breakfast:
Oatmeal and Chai tea.
Night Skincare:
Under eye cream and intense moisturizer from Dr. Tempt.
Fitness:
Boxing helps to clear my head to start the day—I’m trying to get in shape and lose weight. I’ve tried everything, but so far boxing is the most fun I’ve had and it is really showing results. I use Harrison Barba to train me and he is amazing.
Hair:
Shampoo, gloss, condition. I use my Ultimate Shine Gloss every time I wash my hair. The step of the gloss is very important to keeping hair healthy and color vibrant. It’s like foundation for your hair. Once a week, I do my at-home treatment Weekly Remedy. It works super-fast for immediate results.
Dermatologist Or Facialist:
My Best Piece of Beauty Advice:
Take care of yourself, drink lots of water, get enough sleep and take vacation. Be good to your body and soul, it will show on your skin and hair. Always use the right products on your hair and skin.
My Best Piece of Life Advice:
Trust your instinct, you always know what’s best for you.
Biggest Beauty Myth:
Shampoo is just shampoo. I believe shampoo makes a big difference to the health and shine of your hair.
My Charlotte:
A woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t hesitate to see it done. Strong and confident yet generous and good hearted.
