Beauty Products We Love – April Edition
At Charlotte’s Book, our job is to stay at the forefront of new products, buzzy ingredients, and trends. We give our honest opinions on all things beauty and share what’s worth the hype (and what’s not). What this means is we try out a lot of products. Our monthly series Beauty Products We Love is where we’ll share products straight from our beauty cabinets that we just can’t get enough of. Here’s what we loved in April:

When the seasons change, my skin gets wonky. Lately, I've been loving Sunday Riley U.F.O. It's a light hydrating oil that contains acne-fighting ingredients to help keep my skin clear. I use it in the morning and Vintner's Daughter Serum at night.
I also found my new favorite dry shampoo: DERMA-E. I'm in love with it. I use it along with a hair dryer to blow out the powder and voila! Fresh hair. It's not sticky and doesn't leave any residue.

My power color is red, so I’ve been reaching for red lipstick a ton this month! I love warm orangey-reds, which are great for spring, and my personal favorites are MAC Lady Danger and Lancôme Red’y in 5. They both have a matte finish, but they're comfortable on the lips and have great staying power (perfect for long work days on location). For something more sheer but still buildable, I’d recommend Kosas Thrillest!

I'm currently looking for an all-in-one moisturizer with SPF that I can wear under makeup and leaves me feeling hydrated and protected without the weight. If anyone knows a good one, please send my way. Two makeup items I can’t live without at the moment: NARS Orgasm blush (a cult favorite, I know) and highlighting powder in Capri: the perfect combo for achieving a summer glow.
I'm also loving the reviews on the Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial available at Russak Dermatology Clinic right now. Vanessa Hudgens and Brooke Shields got the treatment before their no-makeup shoot for People Magazine, and the results are stunning! Excited to try it this summer.

After a long and caviling search, I finally found the perfect dry shampoo. It's called Lafes Dry Shampoo and it's fabulous. The ingredients are natural and the results are tremendous. It's devoid of all the annoyances that kept my search in motion; there's no harsh chemicals, it's not flaky, it doesn't irritate my scalp, and most importantly (to me), it doesn't tangle or clump my very fine hair. I use the one formulated for brunettes even though I'm a (fake) blonde and it blends in perfectly. After I blow dry my hair, I put some on and I'm good to go until my next wash. I found it at my local health food store, but it can also be purchased on Amazon here.
