I'd Buy It Again: Cane + Austin Retexture Pads
In our line of work, we try a lot of products: that means we know what we love, and why. I’d Buy It Again is a quick and dirty way to tell you about something we’ve tried and all the reasons we love it. These are never sponsored posts—only honest opinions inspired by our obsessions. This time around, we’re talking about the Cane + Austin Retexture Pad Glycolic Facial Treatment.
What is it?
This is an easy-to-use peel pad containing 10% glycolic acid. You can also buy the product in higher strengths, including 20% and 30% glycolic acid. These pads reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. They also even pigmentation and restore the luminosity and vitality of your skin.
What's the bottom line?
This is a really effective retexturing pad that stays moist until the last one. The pads are easy-to-use and are so richly absorbed with pure, undiluted glycolic acid. I love peel pads, but most products dry up quickly. After using about half of the pack, other brands' pads become dried out and ineffective. But the Cane + Austin pads are different. I've gone through three containers of this product (in increasing strengths) and the pads stay wet with product—even the last one.
Who's it for?
This is for anyone looking for an effective product to improve dull skin and exfoliate their skin. It's great for all skin types, including dry and sensitive.
What's the story?
Dr. Craig Austin initially developed these for his clients and they quickly amassed a cult following before even being distributed in stores. We totally understand why.
What are the ingredients?
All Cane + Austin products are vegan and non-comedogenic (meaning they won't block your pores). The glycolic acid improves skin's texture, tone, and appearance. Vitamins A, C, and E help protect skin from free-radical damage. The CoQ10 hydrates and restores moisture balance.
How does it smell?
Not like anything really.
How do I use it?
I use these every other night, alternating with my Retin-A.
How long did I test it for?
Six months.
Any drawbacks?
None.
Would I buy this again?
I received my first box gratis. Since then, I've purchased them several times—so, yes!
Where can you buy it?
You can get these at Sephora, $60 for the 10% strength. You can always pop over to Amazon and pick them up in the 20%, or 30% strength (if you can handle it!).
