Use This Formula To Calculate How Much Water You Need
"I try to take care of myself, drinking at least a gallon of water with lemon a day and making sure to take my vitamins,” Queen Bey once told Vogue magazine. But is that really necessary? As Nicole Richie once said, "Drinking 8 glasses of water is so 90's." Instead, use this more precise formula that Kerry told us in this recent feature for Charlotte’s Book: “I recommend drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. So, if you weigh 140 pounds, you should be drinking 70 ounces of water, which is just over a half gallon.”

We all know that keeping well hydrated is a must, but until you reach the point of thirst, drinking water is often an after-thought. The effects of even mild dehydration, such as hunger and feeling sluggish, can be easily brushed off as other issues. Do the math today to figure out how many ounces of water you need daily, then write it down on a post-it and stick it to your fridge as a reminder. We all know staying hydrated during the day improves your skin's natural radiance, encourages weight loss and maintains your energy levels. “It’s surprisingly easy to mistake thirst for hunger. Drinking water will keep you energized, and you won’t be so quick to look to food for a midday burst of vigor,” says Eleven Eleven Wellness Center resident health coach Kerry Bajaj.
