We knew Dr. Doyle would have some insight into this reader question about when to start Botox, and what risks, if any, might be involved. The answer? It's actually really simple: see a wrinkle, zap a wrinkle.
READER QUESTION:
What age should someone really start getting preventative botox? What are the risks? How do I know when I should really start?
DR. AMANDA DOYLE ANSWER:
A patient can opt to start preventative Botox as soon as a patient’s fine lines or deep lines start concerning them or if they want to take preventative measures. A great age to start incorporating subtle Botox treatments would be the mid-to-late 20’s. If injected incorrectly, a patient could experience eyelid drooping or an asymmetric smile. As soon a patient notices fine lines with expression and they are bothersome, a patient should start Botox to prevent those lines from forming permanently at rest.
