Dr. Karyn Grossman, the high-profile Charlotte’s Book-approved dermatologist to Linda Evangelista and Gwyneth Paltrow, has just launched a skincare line and opened a glorious, sun-drenched new office on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles.
“People have become more holistic in the way they look at their lives, whether they are eating healthier foods or taking better care of their bodies,” Dr. Grossman told the Hollywood Reporter. That ethos directed both the new line of skincare, Karyng—which is “90 percent natural, with 10 percent scientific”—and the new window-filled, Barbara Barry-designed corner office, featuring views of both the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific ocean.
“I hurt people all day,” Dr. Grossman half-joked. “I zap people with lasers, I poke them with needles. [The new space] is really meant to make you feel calm and tranquil, and to engage with the outside world.”
The skincare line includes a cleanser, retinol serum, night cream, eye cream, and sunscreen. Every bottle contains a blend of Dr. Grossman’s proprietary Pro-Verte technology (a “patent-pending natural anti-inflammatory complex combined with the latest innovations in skincare to help repair and restructure skin”) and all-natural ingredients. We spotted Indian gentian leaves (to reduce fine lines and wrinkles) and echinacea purpurea (a natural anti-oxidant that also encourages hyularonic acid stimulation).
The Karyng retinol is packed into KemSpheres, which is “an enhanced delivery system that stabilizes retinol and significantly reduces skin irritation associated with retinols”—the product also includes coconut oil and lentil seed extract, which has been associated with increased collagen production.
The Karyng sunscreen is a moisturizer and makeup primer in addition to UVA and UVB blocker: it relies on titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and iron oxide for sun protection.
What’s new in the office to match these brand new products? In addition to her classic repertoire of dermal fillers, lasers, and liposuction, Dr. Grossman now has a CoolSculpting Advantage (featuring a quicker 30-minute cycle), an InstaLift, the non-surgical facelift, and MiraDry, which removes underarm sweat and odor glands.
All-natural beauty with a high-tech edge, all with a sprawling view of the mountains? Yes please! Thanks for the great news, Dr. Grossman.
